Crazy Girls was a 2000-2001 drama television series that broadcasted on the ERC network. The series was created by Sandra Bowen and Jason Clark and had cast memebers such as Kacey Jackson and Tina Andrews. The series premiered on September 22, 2000 and ran until 2001. After the series had ended it was revealed by ERC that, due to low ratings, the series was officially cancelled.

DevelopementEdit

There was considerable speculation as to whether ERC planned to create a new series for the network. An article in TV Online reported the possibility of a new version series in September 2000. though ERC declined to confirm any such project at that time. Some weeks later, ERC said they were "exploring the possibility" of creating a new series, to potentially debut in the 2000–2001 TV season and targeting their "prized demographic: young women." The network were thinking around the new series in the US called 'Girlfriends' and slightly base it around that, TV Weekly writer Joseph Freesia reported that owner of Ryanland and Life creator Ryan Crim had been approached about running what was being called "Crazy Girls". It was confirmed on December 15, 1999 that Crim was in negotiations to write the initial script for the potential series. In January 2000, ERC's head of entertainment, Naomi Sanders, discussed the network's plans to develop Crazy Girls, stating that she had yet to identify a writer.

On January 19, 2000, with Ryan Crim now officially off the project, TV Weekly reported that ERC were talking with Sandra Bowen and Jason Clark (new up and coming television creators/producers), about helming the new Crazy Girls. On February 6, 2000 Ausiello confirmed that Bowen and Clark were officially hired as the show runners of the series and discussed some of the new show's characters that were yet to be cast.

It was reported on February 23, 2000 that ERC had officially greenlit a pilot episode for the Crazy Girls written by Bowen and Clark, which would "create a new atmosphere for three female 20 somethings exploring a new life."

The new series, ultimately just titled Crazy Girls, premiered on ERC on September 22, 2000

PlotEdit

The series follows three young women trying to get on with their lives getting in drama, relationships and suprises along the way.
